What Makes FLT Sustainable?

How is everything handmade?

All of our designs are created in a domestic, USA-based studio

What makes your cut-and-sew dresses unique?

Our fabric is sourced as remnants or deadstock, typically in 2- to 6-foot scraps. This ensures that every dress is one-of-a-kind, while also reducing textile waste.

Are other items sustainable too?

All of our non-dress items are created from thrifted clothing or textile waste, giving new life to materials that might otherwise end up in landfills.

Where do you source your supplies?

We strictly work with family-run and operated businesses based in the USA, avoiding big-box stores to prioritize sustainability and support local economies.

How do you use foam waste in your products?

When we make items like pillows, the stuffing is repurposed foam waste sourced from local bedding companies. This keeps excess foam out of landfills while giving it a second life in our creations.

Is sustainability part of your process beyond materials?

Yes, sustainability influences every decision we make—from the thread we use to the methods we employ in production.

What is your vintage shop, and how is it tied to sustainability?

Our foundation runs a vintage shop that supplies high-quality items for career readiness. This promotes sustainable shopping habits while empowering individuals with professional attire.
